Welcome to Erne Integrated College.

 

The Board of Governors of Erne Integrated College is delighted to announce the appointment of Darron McLaughlin to the post of Principal (temporary). Darron is passionate about integrated education, and has taught in Lagan College, Integrated College Dungannon and Erne Integrated College as well as CCMS and voluntary grammar schools. After studying for a BA in Environmental Systems and an MSc in Biotechnology, Darron completed a PGCE and began his teaching career in London in 1996. He subsequently relocated to Enniskillen in 1998, and completed a Diploma in the Advanced Study of Education (DASE) in 2012, focusing on school leadership. With 27 years of teaching experience, Darron also has a proven record of successfully leading curriculum and whole school areas including in Science and in Careers Education. Darron initially joined Erne Integrated College as a science teacher in 2018. He has since held leadership roles within both the Science and Careers Departments. Recently, he successfully reintroduced the work experience programme for Year 11 students. 
 

The Chair of the Board of Governors, Ellen McVea, wished outgoing principal Jimmy Jackson-Ware every happiness in his retirement and looks forward to Erne Integrated College continuing to thrive and develop this year under the guidance of Darron McLaughlin.  Ms McVea went on to say, “Academic results this year have been excellent and as a newly appointed Board of Governors, we have been immediately impressed by the commitment across the whole staff body, both to integration and to the continued success of the school. We very much look forward to working with the students, staff, Principal, and parents of Erne Integrated College.”
