Carson Awards

A group of EIC students attended the Carson awards Showcase at Newbridge Integrated College Banbridge on Thursday 19th October accompanied my Mr McKee.

Pictured are students from Erne Integrated College, with Tony Carson, patron of the IEF Carson Awards for creativity in Integrated Education. Tony’s late father Frank Carson , the popular Belfast born Comedian, was the original patron of these awards and tony has carried on the great work since his death. Roksana Dawidowska, pictured, received a 2016-17 bursary of £1000 to fund her project on what integration means to me. This allowed her to purchase a Nikon camera and Portrait lens to create an very impressive exhibition of Black and white portraits, and an accompanying Photo Book titled ‘Faces, Different but the Same’ Roksana is pictured with fellow students Jana Millar, Luke Beirne and Jack McKee all who modelled for portraits during the project. Roksana’s Photographs drew praise from the Fermanagh born actor Adrian Dunbar, a Patron of the Integrated education Fund and supporter of The Carson Awards and form Mr David Barker the eminent, Belfast based, film and documentary maker who was recording the day’s proceedings. The day was rounded off with a short trip to the FE McWilliams Gallery, Banbridge to see an exhibition of portrait work by the County down painter Margaret Clarke.
